Flag Day.
signed up for 6 hours of flag day. 4 hours 1 cca points and 6 hours, we'll have 2pts. but my main motive for joining is not for the points, it's because i found joy doing it the last time. however not this time.
the first hour was spent at the kopitiam, having our dessert. after that, we kai gong.. for 20 mins. outside the entertainment centre. people there are alright. rating: average. after the 20 mins, we got chased off by a security guard. it was raining. no better place to go. so we decided to have ou 'half time'. went to ice skating area to grab a seat and after that came out with an idea to go k pool instead. naughty cherie ar.. haha. played for one hour.. after that li yu decided that she wanna play for an hour more. so that makes it 2 hours. haha. k pool is really exp. $6.85 for 2 hours. time to get back to work after playing. so we decided to do it at interchange this time. waaa. couldn't believe it. the probability of people donating is near to zero!. like good friends.. very near. i thought govt said that the economy is turning better. then those ppl can't even depart from a small portion of their shillings. it's because the majority did that. that's why i am mentioning here. the rate of ppl donating is very very low.
it's always ok for them not to donate. cuz sometimes i do that too. but if people ever approached and asked for donation in a right manner, but X(the one being asked) is not willing, X can always reject others kindly/politely. ignoring or treating us as if we have bird flu is definitely not the way. we are helping others to raise money. not begging $$ for ourselves. Plus the way that they used to siam us is when they are the most creative.. human nature?
where's our compassion and smile? flew away with the IMF delegates? robbed?
Joke out of it: that day was the day where most ppl waved to (saying 'no') and open up a way (trying to avoid) for me. am i supposed to feel happy??
learning point: be patient.
try to smile even if u know u would be rejected by them
handle the rejection faced (as it really drained me as i kept asking and they kept rejecting)
and lastly the disappointment --> so disappointed that so few ppl bothered to donate.
and all that above made me more thankful for those who bothered to stop and donate. those who gave cheerfully. those who 'say no' politely/ with a smile.
:D
